Liquid Tight Conduit designed specifically for splash zones

Sep 03, 2023

AFC Cable Systems’ Liquid-Tuff™ withstands harsh cleaning processes of the food industry

The Liquid-Tuff Splash Zone Liquid Tight Conduit from AFC Cable Systems is designed specifically for splash zones, making it suitable for food equipment and devices, meat packing, restaurants, food processing, and poultry packing. It features a moisture-, oil-, and sunlight-resistant white polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket that inhibits bacteria growth and will not degrade due to "wash down/splash zones" with bleach agents. This allows food manufacturers to clean and sterilize using bleach without the risk of product degradation.

The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) classifies a splash zone as a location where during normal operations direct contact with food products is not expected. The location may be where liquids used in processing or cleaning may splash or spill on the surface causing a risk for dripping or draining onto other surfaces. Wet location listing is not sufficient in these areas and products must be tested to withstand high-pressure hose washdown.

Available in metallic and non-metallic, the Splash Zone Liquid Tight Conduit keeps moisture off power wires when installed with the proper fittings. It is rated for 176°F dry, 140°F wet, 158°F oily, and -22F° low temperature. The product has a hot dipped zinc galvanized low carbon steel core and 3/8″ to 1¼" UL bonding strip for grounding.

The Splash Zone Liquid Tight Conduit is UL and CSA Listed and an NSF® 169 Component, meeting and exceeding standards for material safety, design, construction, and product performance in the food industry.
